Our GFSI 2024 Special Session

In our special session presentation Rising to the A-I of the storm: using digital technology to protect food safety in an evolving world. Tony Poulsen, our Regional Director of Operations and M&A in Asia, explored the growing frequency of extreme weather events and their ramifications on the food supply chain. 

Attendees learned how changing weather patterns impact pest activity trends and discovered innovative solutions using artificial intelligence and machine learning to mitigate pest risks. The session provided fresh insights and perspectives on weather prediction as a tool for enhanced pest control in the food industry.

Tony Poulsen

Regional Director of Operations and M&A, Rentokil Initial

Tony has been based in Singapore as the Regional Director of Operations and M&A in Asia since 2010. In this role, he has been driven to support and elevate the significance of professional pest management practices across the 14 Rentokil Initial markets in Asia. In particular, he is passionate about how the insights gained from a vast set of internal data can drive targeted actions to reduce the risks that pests pose to our customer partners. He is a member of Rentokil Initial’s Global Technical Leadership Team and, as such, has had several decades of exposure across global markets. Tony has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Auckland University with a double major in Marketing and Human Resource Management.
