As Indonesia's population grows, there is numerous area which transforming from densely wooded area to residential area. Due to the ongoing urbanisation in Indonesia, there is pressure for termite colonies to find new food sources to survive.

There are only 2 types of termites that are most often found in Indonesian's home:

Drywood termites
Drywood termites like to build their nests and live within wooden structures, which is how they get their name.

Subterranean termites
As opposed to drywood termites, subterranean termites like to live in the ground. This is because these species of termite need a source of moisture to survive.

Unfortunately, the answer is yes. Termites treatment are without a doubt need constant and ongoing maintenance to keep those destroyer pests away from your home.

• In common cases in termite baiting treatment, termite re-infestation mostly caused by the presence of new termite colonies that appear after the bait is removed and/or after termites in the old colony has been eliminated.
• For spraying or injection treatment the termite re-infestation is generally caused by something that damages the termiticidal barrier in the soil, such as there are a new wiring or pipes installation in the ground and/or natural factors such as land shifts which cause cracks that become new termite colony access.

It's possible! If your neighbour is indeed being infested by termites, these termites colony may move to your house as well. This is because termites have to find the nearest food source from their nest.

If your neighbor is doing a house renovation, make sure there is no wood material placed in the outside area for a long time because this could be an attractant for termites to come.
