Bogor – Sunday, December 8, 2024
Rentokil Initial Indonesia has entered into a strategic partnership with the Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia. This collaboration is formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as part of the Internship and Independent Study/Project Program for the Business and Industry World (DUDI). The program is set to run for two years, from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2026.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to drive the transformation of higher education to enhance the country’s global competitiveness. "The acceleration of higher education transformation is realized through close collaboration with the business world, the industrial sector, and world-class universities," said Prof. Dr. Ir. Suryo Wiyono, MSc. Agr, a representative from IPB.
This program is designed to ensure that IPB graduates possess competencies aligned with the needs of the business and industry sectors. Students will have the opportunity to engage directly in projects and industrial activities, allowing them to better understand the challenges and opportunities in the business and industrial landscape.
Heri Susanto, Managing Director of Rentokil Initial Indonesia, stated that this collaboration not only offers practical experience for students but also aims to produce a generation ready to compete in the future. "We believe that this partnership supports higher education in Indonesia while contributing to the nation’s development," he explained.
In addition to providing direct benefits to students, this program is also seen as part of Rentokil Initial Indonesia's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Through this collaboration, it is expected that stronger ties will be forged between academia and industry, generating positive impacts for both higher education and industrial development in Indonesia.
With this internship and independent study program, students are expected to develop the skills necessary to face an increasingly competitive job market. This strategic initiative demonstrates a shared commitment to creating high-quality human resources and enhancing the nation’s competitiveness on the global stage.
