Rentokil Initial Indonesia Social Activities Against COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic made drastic changes in various social life activities. Various policies from both the government and companies in Indonesia have been implemented to break the COVID-19 chain of infection. Starting from the enactment of Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), the implementation of social distancing, rules of work from home run by the company and also needs for face masks and face coverings is now becoming a mandatory requirement all across Indonesia.

We often find it hard to adjust to current conditions, but above all, a new spirit and hope begin to emerge together to get out of the current crisis conditions. In Rentokil Initial Indonesia (RII), we use this good moment that coincides with the month of Ramadhan to come up with social activities, to show our support and love to some public sector workers, including police officers and road sweeper workers (orange-troops).

On 8th May 2020 RII conducted a series of social activities, including giving complimentary fruits and hand sanitizers to the police officers at the PSBB isolation guard post in the Bogor area. These complimentary gifts were handed over directly by Bambang Tauriantono as the HR director of Rentokil Initial Indonesia.

The complimentary of 100 kg of fruit and 340 pcs of hand sanitizer was also carried out in the Lebak Bulus Village office to road sweeper workers and municipal police officers who were still carrying out their duties during the COVID-19 pandemic, and was handed over directly by Heri Susanto as the Managing Director of Rentokil Initial Indonesia

We also provide disinfection services for hotels designated as one of the special medical lodging facilities in Jakarta. Providing services in special zones for COVID-19 countermeasures is a noble task that has its own challenges. This mandate is now carried out by Ferdi Salamun as an East Metro branch technician who dedicated himself to work in the special zone.

Ferdi has two younger siblings who are still in school and are the oldest children who work in his family. He must be willing to resist the longing to meet family members for 2.5 months due to having to stay overnight while providing disinfection and pest control treatment. All he did was simply because he wanted to break the COVID-19 chain of infection.

In addition, disinfection services was also given to several worship facilities and/or house of worship in several branches of Rentokil Initial Indonesia, one of which was located at PLN Udiklat Slipi mosque, Jakarta.

The series of social care activities carried out by RII is part of the Rentokil Initial Care Program under the #sharethelove campaign, which was held simultaneously in May 2020 by all countries in the world where the Rentokil Initial branch operates.
