Could your business have bird problems?

Birds can become a nuisance at nearly any type of facility – and that can create big problems for any business.

“Birds are attracted to buildings basically for two main reasons,” says Rentokil Steritech’s Kim Lewis, Division Manager for Bird Control Services for North America. “Those reasons are to roost overnight and nest in areas on manmade structures that will provide warmth and protection or to roost or perch on buildings to watch over a nearby food source when it becomes available.”

Birds and their droppings can be responsible for more than 60 diseases, and there are also numerous bacteria and ectoparasites associated with their droppings and nesting material.

In addition to creating an unsightly mess, bird droppings can also be corrosive, damaging equipment and buildings; cause contamination and loss of product; create safety risks; and result in costly cleanup and maintenance costs.
