What do rodents leave behind?

rodentsSo you have seen the signs (Winter is coming, and so are the Rodents) and know you have a rodent family living within your business. Surely they are harmless, right?? Sorry but these little vermin bring a range of diseases into your workplace and can cause a rise in employee sick days.

I didn’t touch the rodent, how can I get sick?

Great question. With rodent activity in your business, diseases can spread through the food you eat and the water you drink. A rodent can contaminate these sources via their urine, or droppings mixing with your food and water, as they travel through your business. These pathogens include:

Are there other ways to catch a disease from a rodent?

Yes, especially if you remove any dead rodents yourself. Here are the diseases and the ways they can affect you:

I have eliminated the rodents, how do I eliminate the diseases left behind?

To ensure that your workplace is disease-free, you need to now clean the surfaces the rodents may have contacted. Unfortunately, the classic spray and wipe won’t cut it. The Rentokil team recommends their Pest Disinfection Service, a unique biocidal solution that specifically targets these rodent-transmitted diseases. This solution is a non-toxic, non-irritant and non-corrosive spray that, when applied to affected areas, will reduce the spread of infectious pathogens that were left behind. Your local Rentokil technician can apply this spray after removing the rodents from your premise.

Protect your team, protect your business, and ensure that this winter is disease-free.
