Mice plague gives cause for concern in regions across Australia

Agronomists throughout Australia have raised their growing concern regarding mice infestations across regions throughout the country and have increased warnings to be extra vigilant to ensure that businesses are not affected by this plague that continues to see rising infestations across farms, buildings and even town households being inundated with rodents.

The issue is the rapidity of the breeding capability of a mouse. Mice start breeding at just six weeks of age and can give birth to a litter of up to 10 offspring every 20 days! In addition, a female mouse can fall pregnant immediately after giving birth.

The prolific breeding pattern of rodents can wreak havoc very quickly. In some regions farmers have witnessed a 5% decrease in possible crop output, as a result of infestations quickly getting out of control. Meanwhile residential suburbs and commercial properties have had to deal with serious outbreaks of rodent activity.  A preventative and consistent maintenance approach to pest control measures will greatly reduce the risk  of a serious infestation.
