Working for Rentokil in the States, I have come across some rather strange questions about pests. One in particular I dealt with had to do with head lice at a school. The parents wanted a pest control material sprayed inside the school to stop head lice. Once I explained to the principal that we don't treat this and it's a health concern, he requested I write a letter and fax it to him. With cooperation from the office manager we got the letter together to explain pest control cannot help in this case. The principal was well pleased and sent copies home to all the parents. The best part was the letterhead was ours, a nice way to advertise pest control.

Yes Joey,it is possible to see pubic lice on skin, or indeed on pubic hairs attached to garments. When fully grown they are approximately the size of a pin head.
Black powder may also be noticed in underwear as a result of droppings (faeces)from the lice. Also brown eggs (nits)may be noticable on pubic or other hair.
Minute specks of blood may also be seen which are indicators of where the lice have fed.
There may also be a facial expression prior to noticing all of the above which could give the game away.

Is pubic lice that easy to see from a distance or even close up? I thought they were too small to be seen without a microscope?
