The beach huts were not in the best shape and we really regretted having lifted the matrasses to check if there was something hiding: There was a full assortment of milipedes and cockroaches. Too bad it was the only accomodation and we realized this in the evening :-) @Caroline: I had a run-in with a centipede on Andaman Islands. I felt something like a bite, when walking to my hut at dusk, but did not see what caused the bite. I asked some locals and they guessed it was a cobra. That is when I started to curse myself for going to remote places. However, I was really relieved to hear that 1. there was a hospital on the island and 2. it was "only" a centipede bite. Then again the pain of the bite was incredible, even though I took a lot of strong pain killers. However, later on I learned that I was quite lucky, because some friend of mine was in coma for a day after a centipede bite in Hong Kong. @Danusia, I remember i experienced a similar scenario on some small Island somewhere in Thailand. Has anyone ever come across them over there; I did not but I wonder if they also have stinging Millipedes!
