Lunch Habits Are Encouraging Office Pests

Whats worse - office pests or computer bugs - you decideSo I hear how dedicated and hard working office workers are from this recent press release about ‘dining al ‘desko’.

I am impressed at the commitment but alarmed to hear that this dedication at work could potentially be encouraging pests – and I don’t mean the human variety. By eating at our desks, we are potentially littering our desks and keyboards with food crumbs and debris, which could be very appealing to hungry pests!

At home, I do anything to keep pests away with regular cleaning, taking the rubbish out, not leaving food out in the open, the list goes on. So, I was horrified that my (what I thought) innocent lunch habits (yes, I am just as committed) at work could be encouraging the very same pests in the office that I try to keep at a great distance from me at home.

So, next time I feel tempted to tuck into a baguette or a bag of crisps at my desk, perhaps I should get up and have lunch in the kitchen or if I am feeling lazy make sure that I at least fully clean up after myself. No reason to have different standards of cleanliness at home to work  – or is there??
